The pour spout of the glass does start slightly lower than the original, therefore the plastic strainer built into the top doesn’t quite cover the entire pour area. Customer Review: I love this brand. I have a kettle by this brand I’ve brought repeated gifts of the kettle for people is Christmas presents and I have a couple of French presses. I love it because it’s more durable than glass and I love the fact that I can order a 50 ounce size the handle is economic and easy to craft and doesn’t get too hot and it keeps the coffee very hot indeed it’s got a very Thick insulated layer. I couldn’t be more pleased with this brand. It’s best if you wash it out after using and don’t let coffee sit in it for hours and hours and hours after due date if you ever do need, you can do a diluted water and vinegar rinse and wash. I recommend not using anything abrasive inside of it. It’s a very, very good pot and it’s far better than the other designer brands available That are maybe well known very good filtering system as well better than the most well-known brand in the business love this love the company. They also really stand by their product and immediately respond if you have an issue.

The Cafe Du Chateau French Press is very well made and seems sturdy enough to last a long time, with a thick glass carafe, good quality stainless steel, and no sharp edges, as mentioned in other reviews (I guess they fixed that problem, which shows that the manufacturer is paying attention). Taking it apart for cleaning is easy peasy, with the exception of unscrewing the cross plate from the stem. That can be a little stubborn to loosen at times. Otherwise it’s very easy to break down and clean.

Customer Review: This is the French press. I used the regular ones with the mesh screen filter, they work OK. Then tried the ESPRO, the dual screen and silicone seal make your coffee 100% better, by simply preventing the fine grounds from getting into your drink. French press taste, none of the grit. It looks great, easy to clean, easy to use. I use a scale to weigh the water and grounds. There is a line inside the glass to show the fill height, there is a small arrow on the lid to align the pouring screen window. I no longer use my Mochamaster drip coffee maker. If ESPRO came out with an updated model for 2026, and the handle was improved a bit less flimsy, and the lid orientation arrow was a bit easier to see, I’d buy a new one! Be careful with the glass in the dishwasher it’s fragile!!

I opted to try a French Press for its simplicity…no electricity, no motherboard to fail, no grinder to stop grinding, & no high-cost outlay. I chose Espro based upon Wirecutter’s recommendation. I was very impressed by its design and functionality. Following the recommended instructions, I brewed very good coffee my first try. I had expected some fiddle factor of experimenting a few times to get it right, but that was not the case. The double filter does everything it is touted to do. I had zero sludge or grit in my pour. If there is anything I didn’t like, it is that the clean-up is something of a mess but nothing I’m unwilling to put up with.

It might sound silly, but this is something that’s presumably going to be out on your kitchen counter every day, so it should matter if you like looking at it, and I think the design of the Chambord is the sort of classy that doesn’t age. When I make coffee in the mornings, I place it on my counter, and the way the sun hits the glass makes my coffee look so good, I’m almost certain contributes to it tasting better once it’s in my cup. Small plastic parts broke and I took the plunge to try this french press which is mostly glass and metal, figuring the simpler construction might ensure it would last longer (and it’s less expensive too).One thing I like about the Chambord is the glass beaker is a separate piece. This is unlike Bodum’s Brazil model which has the plastic fused onto the glass. I know replacement glass pieces are sold separately in case mine breaks.I liked the look of the Chambord which is sleek and has a shiny silver metal and black plastic for the holder and cap. I looked at the Bodum Chambord side by side with other coffee presses (like the Bodum Brazil) in a store and could see that this one looks more sophisticated and classy.I also like the 32 ounce capacity of the Chambord.Easy to UseThe coffee press is so easy to use. I boil the water then wait two minutes, as the manufacturer says not to use boiling water. I put the coffee grounds in it then fill it with 32 ounces of water. I stir it with a wooden chopstick then place the lid on and wait four minutes. Then it is pressed very gently and slowly. The coffee is ready to serve.My one complaint about the glass container is there are no marked lines for various measurements. If you want to make coffee in a certain number of ounces, such as to make an 8 ounce cup, you will have to heat the water and measure it in a heat-safe measuring cup then pour it in.I note the manufacturer has legal warnings in two languages which fill over two inches of space on it so it is clear that Bodum wasn’t leaving markings off to have a clean design look.Since this uses no electricity and is small I am taking it with me when camping. If I have to, when company is visiting, I will use an insulated coffee pot if I need more than 32 ounces of one kind of coffee. I even had an insulated one that I’ve used for a few years.I got this one yesterday to replace that one as it broke. This is very nice looking. Feels quality. I had my first cup of coffee and it was as expected…hot and delicious. I had my second cup an hour later and steam rose as I poured. The coffee was still a great temperature! This was not the case with my previous insulated french press.I am so thankful I got this one. I know. It’s only my first use, but there’s not much that can happen with a french press. If it does, I’ll amend this review.
